Project Warmth KC 2017

Each year we partner with KCTV5 and The Salvation Army to promote Project Warmth KC.  Project Warmth collects new and gently used coats and blankets as well as cash donations to help people in need during extremely cold weather. The Midwest’s extreme conditions during severe weather—hot or cold—prompted the effort to help people in need. Ultimately, Project Warmth aims to ensure lives are not lost to frigid cold or sweltering heat.  Project Warmth KC has been helping our Kansas City area neighbors for over 35 years.  Will you partner with Project Warmth this year?

To partner with Project Warmth KC you can help in a few different ways:

-Donate coats and blankets –   Saturday November 4th there will be various locations throughout the Kansas City area collecting coats and blankets for those in need.   You can read more about the drive at http://www.projectwarmthkc.com/drop-off-locations/.

-Donate money – You can donate online here or look for the Contribution Envelopes in your  Kansas City Star Sunday newspaper.

-Purchase your very own original editorial cartoon artwork by Lee Judge – With a donation of $100 dollars you can own this conversational piece of art (Available November 23, 2017 through December 17, 2017).  Click here to learn more.

Back To School Clothing Project

Summer is here!

That means it’s time to start thinking about MAAC’s annual Back To School Clothing Project.

Your donation will help homeless students across the metro-area return to school decked out in brand new clothes. Even though kids are amazingly resilient, being homeless typically means they have some difficult challenges in their lives. The start of a new school year brings with it hope for a better future, and a great way to kick it off is with bright shiny sneakers, and brand new clothes.

girls with clothesHelp us offer hope!

Your donation provides:

3 complete outfits (including socks & underwear)

1 pair of shoes

1 winter coat

How much?

$150 for a student in elementary school

$200 for a student in middle/high school

(But every $25 helps!)

Please make checks payable to MAAC and indicate Back to School in the memo field.

We’d like to receive money by the end of July so case managers and parents have plenty of time to shop before school starts!
